Crossing Finse

Solo Exhibition · Kunstraum EP

Crossing Finse is a series of paintings inspired by a 3000 km journey along the Norwegian coast and across the country. Captivated by the raw elegance of the northern mountain landscapes, the artist sought to translate this experience into paintings. The series conveys the overwhelming sensation of standing amidst rock and water in a vast, untamed world. Named after Finse, a remote Norwegian village at 1222 meters above sea level, the work is created using a palette knife, midnight blue oil paint, and black tea concentrate. Through a labor-intensive process, over 100 square-format paintings emerged, each capturing the depth, solitude, and power of the Nordic terrain.
